About Spirit Led Health
Mission
My belief is that we are connected, to the universe around us, and to each other. Our body, mind, and spirit can, and need to, work together to bring us into our highest potential as human and spiritual beings.
This belief has led me on a journey of exploration and learning that has inspired me to help others search for and find their own connected self.
Healing & Wellness
I first studied Massage the ITM Institute in Thailand in 1994. My interest in Massage caused me to go back to school to become an RMT in 1997. I opened my first clinic in 1997 and eventually had two locations including a small Yoga Studio.

Spiritual Studies
Buddhist
My first retreats were in Vipassana, and Zen Buddhism. I am grateful that these studies led to growth opportunities that included meeting the Dalai Lama, retreats with Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, and practice with my local Zen community at Truc Lam Monastery. A more medical approach was studied via Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction training with Jon Kabat Zen. The teaching of this popular medically based mediation practice came from Vipassana meditation.
Yogic
An interest in physical Yoga started with teacher training Integrative Yoga Therapy and Ashtanga which was originally an adjunct to massage remedial exercises.
These opened the door to deeper studies in Yogic philosophy which has the same roots as Buddhism in Sankhya Philosophy. My advance studies included Advanced 500 hr Yoga Teacher Training a Mount Madonna Ashram (Baba Hari Das) and finally certification in Raja Yoga through Reverend Jaganath Carreira a student of Swami Satchidananda. The advanced trainings focused less on the physical and more on the goal of yoga integration of connection to higher consciousness.
The Yoga Sutras state the path is achieved Yoga Chitta Vritti Nirodha. Although sounding esoteric this simply states that the path is to calm the fluctuations of the mind, as its in the stillness that creativity, healing and connection to wellness is available.
Unity
The base experiential practices led to an interest in a practical means to cultivate oneness with the principal of God (male or female) and/or higher consciousness through the Unity Church. Unity was founded in the late 1800’s and they were influenced by transcendentalists philosophy (Thomas Merton) and most believe early studies of Eastern Philosophy. This led to studies as a Prayer Chaplain and the Enneagram.
Massage Therapy
Therapeutic
My approach to this work is based on 30 years experience. For table massage I assess the needs of my clients and approach with a combination of modalities that suit the individuals needs. On a physical basis these included Deep Tissue techniques, Trigger Point Therapy and Cross fibre frictions. Where indicated gentler techniques such as Ortho Bionomy and Cranial Sacral Therapy are integrated into the practice.
Thai Massage
Depending on need for stretching or access from a different physical approach floor or matt techniques are available through Traditional Thai Massage this modality uses pressure points and is done with Yoga type clothing vs draping.
Energetic Shamanic – Sacred Lomi
My first introduction to a whole-body massage was when studying the Esalen Technique in Big Sur California. This approach to working with the body contracts with conventional Swedish massage, as rather than dividing the body up, trying instead to integrate the whole body with long flowing strokes and stretches.
Sacred Lomi is a whole body approach to healing. This includes a varying of speeds to overcome mental and emotional holding patterns and a three-dimensional technique that includes under body strokes. The session is a considered a prayer or ritual for the receiver’s wellness, as a practitioner of Sacred Lomi I hold space for you to fly and release patterns of physical, energetic and emotional holding.
